Restorative Family Mediation (RFM) is deeply rooted in a culturally responsive approach, where power is evenly distributed, fostering a balanced environment among all participants. This process enables participants to engage as equals, promoting true transformation and growth rather than mere compliance. Through RFM, families are equipped with tools to identify the rhythms of change in their relationships, forging a path towards a shared and harmonious future.
Restorative Family Mediation distinguishes itself from Family Group Conferencing by adhering to a Code of Ethics aligned with MN Rule 114 standards. This practice ensures that everyone can freely exercise self-determination, experiencing fair and respectful treatment, without coercion in private settings.
Facilitation focuses on the resolution and healing of family systems while proactively addressing the prevention of unhealthy patterns of origin. By fostering an environment where all parties feel respected, heard, and understood during pivotal life moments, we empower families to redefine their trajectories towards positive change.
Participants will experience neutral, nonjudgmental, and compassionate facilitation that places a strong emphasis on child-focused strategies and planning, ensuring the safety and nurturing of family systems. This process seeks to bring all parties to a safe and shared space, where needs can be voiced, and sustainable plans can be thoughtfully crafted for the benefit of all involved.
